The Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History has the largest collection of any university museum in the United States of America. The dinosaur collection is especially impressive and holds the Guinness World record for the largest dinosaur skull: a pentaceratops (five horned). The museum has a neat collection of the state rock: the red rose rock. This is very pretty with rose like petals and grows relatively quickly. Their collection contains thousands of archeological artifacts from the prehistoric people of the Oklahoma area through to the present day. Their department of ethnology emphasizes the Native American lifestyle through art, music and other areas. Be prepared to spend hours in the museum looking at the different exhibits. When you get hungry, they have a restaurant where you can find something to ease the hunger pains.

The Jacobson House features the ongoing work of Native Americans, especially the Kiowa Five, who were encouraged to peruse their style at the university. Oscar and Jeanne Jacobson built the house in the 1910s. It is bright and spacious employing many Swedish motifs. Jeanne put on plays in the back yard. They welcomed local artists to their home and became the focal point for the community.
